Derek Hough Returning To ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Derek Hough is returning to “Dancing With The Stars,” Gossip Cop has confirmed. The six-time winner of the dance competition show was not slated to appear this season, but he’s returning to the ballroom after his Broadway revival of “Singin’ In The Rain” was pushed back from opening in the fall to some time in 2017.
Actually, he’s not the only Hough coming back to “Dancing With The Stars.” After sitting Season 22 out, Julianne Hough is returning to the judges’ panel. She was a judge in seasons 20 and 21 before taking a hiatus. Now, she’ll be back, Gossip Cop has learned, and will have to critique her brother. ABC will neither confirm nor deny the Houghs’ joining “Dancing With The Stars again.
The Houghs aren’t the only siblings who will be on the show this season. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to “Dancing With The Stars” and will be competing toe-to-toe against his brother Val. Of course, Maksim’s fiancee Peta Murgatroyd will not be dancing since she is expecting the couple’s first child.
While some names have leaked out already, the full cast of stars will be revealed on Tuesday. Earlier this week, the “DWTS” pros dancers for Season 23 were announced on “Good Morning America.” In addition to Derek Hough and the Chmerkovskiy brothers, the upcoming season’s dancers are Lindsay Arnold, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Sasha Farber, Allison Holker, and Gleb Savchenko. The new season of “Dancing With The Stars” kicks off on September 12.
