Derek Hough Spends Night In Hospital ER After Dancing With The Stars Feet Injury (PHOTOS)
Derek Hough spent the night in the emergency room after Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” apparently suffering an injury to his feet. There is a lot of speculation Hough broke his foot, but that has NOT been confirmed. A rep for “Dancing with the Stars” only tells Gossip Cop, “We can confirm he was injured rehearsing for the ‘DWTS’ 10th Anniversary special.” See photos below.
Mark Ballas revealed the situation on Instagram, sharing a picture of himself in the hospital with Hough, who sat in a wheelchair. “Long night in the ER with @derekhough nothing worse than seeing a fellow dancer get hurt especially your brother,” wrote Ballas, adding, “But he had me @bcjean & @corkyballas there by his side. #fam.” BC Jean is Ballas’ longtime girlfriend, while Corky, of course, is his father, who helped raise Hough and guided his dancing career.
Hough also gave an indication to the severity of his condition in an Instagram post that’s since been deleted. The pro dancer shared a picture that showed both of his feet in soft casts, and wrote, “Just getting home from the hospital. Not the best of news. I’m in utter disbelief.” As Gossip Cop has reported, Hough and partner Nastia Liukin have been one of the top pairs on this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” and the fan-favorite has also been commuting to the East Coast after each show to star in the “New York Spring Spectacular” at Radio City Music Hall.
It’s unclear how this will affect his participation in either project. A double “DWTS” elimination is slated for next week, and Hough currently reigns as the show’s winningest pro of all time after scoring the Mirror Ball trophy five times. As for the anniversary special, that is expected to tape Tuesday night and air on April 28, with a slew of former contestants and pro dancers taking part to celebrate the milestone. It seems Hough’s involvement, however, is now out of the question. Gossip Cop has reached out for more information, and will have updates.
