Derek Hough On Dancing With The Stars Injury: “I Can Wobble Around,” But “Can’t Dance” (VIDEO)
Derek Hough says in a new interview that “he can wobble around,” but won’t be able to dance on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars.” As Gossip Cop reported, the pro dancer injured both his feet during an accident last week while rehearsing for the show’s anniversary special. See the video below.
“Although I can sort of wobble around, I can’t dance,” reveals Hough on Monday’s “Good Morning America.” In a teaser for tonight’s “Dancing With the Stars,” Hough can be seen trying to practice with his partner Nastia Liukin and his stand-in, Sasha Farber.
Hough announced his injury last week on Instagram by uploading a photo of his bandaged feet. Alongside the picture he wrote, “Performing 10 shows a week at Radio City while rehearsing with Nastia for DWTS, I’ve never felt more healthy, strong and fit. But then a fluke accident happened that involved a light and some stairs. Can’t believe it, wish I had a cooler story to tell. All that dancing, flipping, jumping and the thing that stops me in my tracks is something as simple as light and some stairs.”
A rep for Hough told Gossip Cop last week that the dancer suffered “sprains to his left ankle on both the inside and outside aspects and a bone bruise on the same ankle.” He was also “diagnosed with a broken toe on his right foot,” noted the rep. It’s not clear how Hough’s injury will affect the rest of his participation this season on “Dancing With The Stars.” Watch Hough’s interview on “Good Morning America” below, and tell us what you think.
