As funny as it’s been to watch Conan O’Brien undermine NBC as he nears his departure, it was even better to see him take it to the next level on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show” and hit the network where it really hurts — the bottom line.
After another amusing monologue spin through the surreal public spat that will end his “Tonight” tenure (including what may have been The Masturbating Bear’s swan song), O’Brien observed that until he leaves the doomed program, he can do anything he wants… all on NBC’s dime.
With that in mind, he introduced a special “new character,” created not with the intention of making viewers laugh so much as making his network bosses bleed cash. Enjoy!
