Denzel Washington is the victim of a death hoax.

According to a gross prank from Global Associated News, “Actor Denzel Washington is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today – November 14, 2011.”

The rumor is spreading on Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

Washington is NOT dead.

He’s alive and well.

His rep confirms to Gossip Cop that Washington is currently shooting a movie in Atlanta.

Like many celebrities before him, Washington’s phony accident supposedly happened in Zermatt, Switzerland, one of Global Associated News’ favorite locations for “killing” famous people.

As Gossip Cop has noted, these hoaxes tend to come in waves.

Tiger Woods and Sylvester Stallone have been “claimed” by similar pranks over the last few days.
