Denny’s is throwing major shade at Ariana Grande over her donut licking and “I hate America” controversy. The restaurant chain tweeted on Thursday, “*licks pancakes* i love America.” As Gossip Cop reported, Grande has been mocked and bashed all week after surveillance video from Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California leaked, showing the singer seemingly licking powdered donuts on a display shelf and saying, “I hate Americans. I hate America.”

As Gossip Cop noted, Denny’s isn’t the only one taking Grande to task. Rob Lowe tweeted on Wednesday that he thought Grande’s apology, in which she said her comment was taken “out of context,” was “lame.” After Grande tried to explain that her unpatriotic remark was uttered out of frustration over “child obesity,” Lowe wrote on Twitter, “As my grandpa would say: ‘Yeah, sure. Pull the other leg, it plays jingle bells!’”

Ricky Gervais also mocked Grande by sarcastically tweeting in a now-deleted post, “When she said she hates America she meant she loves America. And when she said let’s lick the donuts she meant let’s not lick the donuts.”

Grande has been relatively silent on social media ever since the scandal broke, but she did reach out to her fans on via Twitter on Wednesday to tell them she needs to “clean up this mouth of mine” and “set a a better example.” What do you think about Denny’s tweet about Ariana Grande?
