Demi Lovato Slams Report She’s Trying To Sell House: Um, I Don’t Own That Home
Demi Lovato has slammed a report about her having trouble selling a house in the Los Angeles area, claiming she never even OWNED the property in the first place. On Monday, TMZ reported that Lovato was “trying to further distance herself from Miley Cyrus” by attempting to unload a Toluca Lake home for $2.23 million. The outlet says it’s Lovato’s fourth listing of the house, which TMZ claims she purchased in 2011.
But according to Lovato… she never owned the house. On Monday, she tweeted, “@TMZ, 1. I RENTED the house when I was 15 for 2 years 2. Renting is NOT owning 3. Stop trying to start a fire where there is none.” So it looks like a case of real estate confusion. Lovato has been living elsewhere in L.A. for years, and she’s not trying (and failing) to unload the Toluca Lake residence.
The Cyrus tie-in in the TMZ article references Lovato’s recent comments about growing apart from her former Disney Channel pal. Lovato told a 103.3 AMP Radio interviewer that she and Cyrus are just “acquaintances” these days, explaining, “Yeah, it’s life, and people change, and, you know, I don’t have anything in common with her anymore, and I wish her all the best.”
