Demi Lovato Asks Fans Not To Take Photos Of Her “Paparazzi Style”
Demi Lovato took to Twitter on late Friday with a simple request for fans: If you want a photo, just ask.
The singer tweeted, “Hey guys.. Don’t be lame for the summer and take pics paparazzi style on your phone.” Then, incorporating the title of her upcoming single, she added, “Be #CoolForTheSummer and just say hi.”
Like many celebrities, Lovato is regularly hounded by paparazzi, and often followed in Los Angeles and other cities. Fans tend to gather at airports and hotels, but also sometimes aren’t shy about approaching stars in restaurants and stars. It seems Lovato, however, rather be talked to than have people surreptitiously trying to take pics from afar.
But the comment didn’t sit well with at least one fan, who replied, “but when we do and we ask for a selfie U look like U want to die 90% of the time.” The Twitter user went on to post four photos of Lovato making what some could argued is a forced smile. Another person even wrote back, “But you don’t seem to like meeting fans in public,” and someone else said, “You signed up for it.”
Of course, every star is entitled to privacy, and no one is going to be “on” 24/7. And, as Gossip Cop has reported, Lovato is actually quite good to her Lovatics. Last year, Lovato enlisted fans to help her complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and a few months later, she accepted a 5-year-old boy’s proposal during her concert.
And just this past April, as Gossip Cop noted at the time, Lovato surprised a fan in Australia during a radio interview. TELL US: What do you think of Lovato’s tweet?
