Demi Lovato dedicated a performance of her empowering song “Warrior” to Bruce Jenner on Saturday, one day after he officially came out as transgender. Check out the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Jenner revealed, “I am a woman,” during his highly-anticipated “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer, which aired on Friday night. His openness was met with strong praise from Hollywood, as actors, musicians, and stars of every order voiced their support on social media. Lovato was among them, tweeting, “#f*ckyeahbrucejenner so beyond brave… You’re going to save lives by sharing your story.. God bless you and your heroic soul.”

The pop star continued to show her admiration for Jenner on Saturday night, during her concert at New Zealand’s Vector Arena in Auckland. Lovato was more than halfway through her set when she began talking about fame and life in the spotlight. She called Jenner an “American hero,” but admitted she didn’t “know who he was until ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians.'” Lovato told the crowd, “I just want to, like, dedicate this song, and it’s so cheesy that I’m even doing this, but f*ck it, whatever. I want to dedicate it to someone who became an even bigger hero last night, Bruce Jenner.”

“By the way, never ever thought I’d dedicate a song to him, but he was honest and he was open with his story,” Lovato went on. “No matter if you agree with it or not, he probably saved so many lives and educated so many people about transitioning into being a woman and being transgender, and what that’s all about. So, yeah, I just want to dedicate it to Bruce Jenner.”

The singer added, “By the way, he looked fabulous last night. I can totally picture him with a martini glass and like whipping his hair back and forth.” Lovato launched into the moving track, after explaining it would be accompanied by a video of the inspiring people she met during a trip to Africa. The song starts off with the lyrics, “This is a story that I have never told/I gotta get this off my chest to let it go,” with a chorus that goes, “‘Cause now I’m a warrior/Now I’ve got thicker skin/I’m a warrior/I’m stronger than I’ve ever been.” Watch below!
