Demi Lovato slammed two “X Factor” hopefuls who auditioned with a rap that included references to using bath salts as a drug.

The new judge, who went into treatment in 2010 and has talked about her own underage substance abuse, was upset after the duo used lyrics such as, “I’m high on bath salts” during their Greensboro, North Carolina performance.

According to reports, Lovato told the pair, “It’s really inappropriate to rap about drugs in front of kids.”

The rap performers did not get through to the next stage.

Lovato’s fellow judge Britney Spears had more fun in Greensboro, getting up and dancing during an “Ice Ice Baby” audition.

I get it I honestly do but is Demi the bloody fucking morality police? Some of what her teen Disney mates isnt appropriate for young kids. Get off your high horse Demi!

  • Jailyn

It isn’t as if they were rapping about shooting up heroin or smoking Meth. Bath salts? come on, I get that she feels like a role model for kids but It isn’t up to the public to educate children on drugs, that’s their parents job.

  • Bruce

Do you understand what “bath salts” are, Jailyn? It’s like “super meth,” not literally the “bath salts” you use in the tub… “bath salts” is the street name. So yeah, shooting up heroin and smoking meth is comparable to what they were rapping about.

Good on Demi. This is a family show and parents trust that their kids are safe watching it. I would be pissed if my kid learned about bath salts because they allowed someone to rap about it on this show. It’s not appropriate. The rappers should have known that, but obviously they didn’t care. Demi had enough foresight to stop them cold and not have them exposed to the wrong audience.

but aren’t there plenty of rappers nowadays that rap about drugs and sing about drugs…

  • Peaceoutalyssa

    True That!!

  • Peaceoutalyssa

Thats true and lots of kids hear lyrics worse than that on the radio!!!

But she can’t “filter” what her friends, or other Disney people do. She can do that on X Factor, to a degree, since she’s a judge. Also, what other Disney people do in their own private life is usually none of the public’s business, it’s only the invasion of that privacy because of the paparazzi that people ever know about it. And I don’t think she’s on a high horse; She shared with the world when she was at her lowest low, and how she came out of it.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. Rappers talk about this stuff all the time. Demi on the other hand isn’t the ideal celebrity either. She’s a hiprocrite. Beyond that though, I can respect her that she tried to do the right thing–but you can’t honestly believe that you can stop one rap and have it make a difference. Plenty of kids are going to hear about it one way or another.

It’s about time we stop worshiping drug users and abusers. Well done Demi.

  • Lidia

My admirations, Demi. Well done, finally somebody to say it out loud… we don’t need to hear songs about being high every hour!

  • Annabella

How about her actions then Bruce? Demi thinks just because she went through her own little low she is a spokesperson for low self esteem now? Oh please open up your eyes and realize the only reason and realize ever since her little “recovery” she is more popular than ever now. She couldn’t stop flapping her gums for one second and had to share all of her “struggles.” Demi thinks she the bloody pope and its beyond annoying. You want some good role models? Emma stone, Emma watson, Jen law, nina dobrev, Sophia bush, Lucy hale. And I could name a hundred more who are good girls, demi is not one of them that’s only her gimmick and what her publicists want you to believe and since your head is so far up her ass they’ve got you fooled. Good day mate.

I do hope you realize that she is not the only one who went through these ordeals. Millions of girls AND boys are struggling with the same isues. She only gave them a voice by talking about this. No one else did this for them. Don’t talk about things, you do not understand.

  • Arcachnar

Demi IS right. Drugs ARE bad. How I know that? I know this first-handed. Some friends of mine were not that lucky and died from it.
