Demi Lovato Performs “Neon Lights” With American Idol Girls on Finale — WATCH!
Demi Lovato performed “Really Don’t Care” and “Neon Lights” with the “American Idol” girls on Wednesday’s season finale.
The collaboration followed the singer’s surprise appearance earlier this season, where she reviewed some of the contestants’ performances. That either made the girls now very nervous or very scared to actually share the stage with Lovato.
But the result was a total success with the crowd clearly ecstatic at seeing some of their favorite eliminated contestants, and of course, a superstar like Lovato. She was joined by Kristen O’Connor, Majesty Rose, Malaya Watson, Emily Piriz, and Jessica Meuse.
Noticeably missing from the performance were MK Nobilette and Jena Irene. Irene, of course, was one of the stars of the night as one of the Top 2 finalists, and was getting her own time in the spotlight. Nobilette, however, revealed on Sunday that she would be unable to participate “due to illness.” Thankfully, fans will still get to see her later this year on the “American Idol” tour.
Lovato is no stranger to “American Idol.” In fact, she previously performed on the show nearly four years ago, taking the stage with Joe Jonas. This time, however, was clearly all about girl power. “Really Don’t Care,” officially just released on Monday as the fourth single from Lovato’s album Demi, was the perfect choice. The track is a defiant kiss-off to an ex-lover. Hey, who needs men?
