Debby Ryan NOT Dead: Disney Star Mistaken For Debbie Reynolds
Debby Ryan had to assure her fans she’s not dead after a number of Twitter followers mistook the Disney Channel star for the late Debbie Reynolds. Upon receiving numerous “RIP” tweets, the 23-year-old actress responded that she’s very much alive.
As Gossip Cop reported, the 84-year-old Reynolds died Wednesday after suffering a stroke just one day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher. Some confused Twitter users, however, sent condolences to Ryan, best known for her starring role on the Disney Channel series “Jessie.”
One person tweeted, “Omg I can’t believe that 2016 took away Debby Ryan too. Rip girl, I will always be Jessie’s #1 fan.” Another fan wrote, “RIP Debby Ryan… queen of Disney Channel.” There were many additional tweets incorrectly honoring the young actress. And one user offered, “I cant believe Debby Ryan is dead… 2016 has been the worst year ever.”
In response to all of the tweets, Ryan wrote on Thursday morning, “No… guys, that’s very thoughtful but it’s Reynolds. Debbie Reynolds.” Following the death of Fisher earlier this week, the Disney star had also retweeted a quote from the late Star War actress, which said, “If my life wasn’t funny it would just be true and that is unacceptable.”
