Deadpool Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Premieres Red Band Footage On “Conan” (VIDEO)
Ryan Reynolds premiered the first trailer for his upcoming superhero movie Deadpool on Tuesday’s “Conan.” Host Conan O’Brien helped Reynolds introduce the footage from the movie adaptation. Watch the red band trailer below!
The new Deadpool trailer is red band, meaning the footage is R-rated. O’Brien explained that as a result of showing the explicit preview, his show has been given a TV-MA rating for the first time in his history as a late-night host. The insane trailer features tons of graphic violence, some sex, and plenty of crude language.
Deadpool, a spin-off of X-Men, is based on a Marvel comic book about former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds). After Wilson becomes the subject of a scientific experiment that leaves him with super-healing powers, he adopts the crime-fighting alter ego Deadpool. Reynolds’ character is described as an anti-hero with a dark and twisted sense of humor.
The trailer features Reynolds’ character graphically slicing up and shooting down bad guys and dialogue such as, “You look like Freddy Krueger face-f*cked a topographical map of Utah.” So be forewarned, the footage is very NSFW. The cast of the film includes Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein. The highly-anticipated Deadpool is slated to hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
