David Schwimmer, Zoe Buckman NOT In “Custody Battle,” Despite Report
David Schwimmer is not gearing up for a custody battle with Zoe Buckman, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim, which was made in one of this week’s tabloids. We’re told it’s “false.”
“‘Friends’ Star Declares War Over Daughter,” screams a headline in the National Enquirer, which goes on to contend the actor is “bracing” himself for an “international custody battle from hell” following his recent split from Buckman. “Zoe told David she’ll pack up and move back to England and take [their 5-year-old daughter] Cleo with her,” purports the outlet’s source. The magazine’s supposed tipster adds that Schwimmer is in deep discussions with his lawyer over how to prevent Buckman from taking his daughter to the U.K.
Gossip Cop reached out to a Schwimmer source who told us that, as of now, the article is 100 percent wrong. Schwimmer and Beckman are not gearing up for a vicious custody battle. Currently, their split and decisions about co-parenting Cleo have remained amicable. Additionally, a rep for Schwimmer says the tabloid’s report is “false.”
As Gossip Cop reported, when Schwimmer and Buckman recently announced their split, they noted in a joint statement, “Our priority is, of course, our daughter’s happiness and well being.” They also expressed that they would “continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family.” Naturally, custody arrangements sometimes change, but right now we’re told Schwimmer and Buckman are in agreement, and while the Enquirer’s story is much juicier than reality, it’s also untrue.
