David Letterman NOT Divorcing Wife After Leaving Late Show, Despite Report
David Letterman is not on the verge of divorcing his wife Regina Lasko, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this story. We’re told the claim is 100 percent “untrue.”
According to the National Enquirer, “Letterman is ready to leave television and his wife.” The tabloid says he and Lasko lead “separate lives,” and quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “It’s been a loveless marriage for years” and that the retiring talk show host “checked out of the marriage” a long time ago.
That’s not all. The magazine says there will be an “ugly custody battle” over the couple’s 11-year-old son Harry, who the tabloid claims Letterman wants to take to Montana. The tabloid’s supposed “source” alleges the fight over Harry “could be a downright dirty battle.”
There’s one little problem with the Enquirer‘s “$400 million divorce” claim: It’s completely “untrue,” a source close to Letterman tells Gossip Cop. And a rep for the “Late Show” host further assures Gossip Cop the whole story is “absolutely false.”
Of course, the Enquirer doesn’t exactly have a spotless record when it comes to Letterman. Gossip Cop recently corrected the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Letterman was charging his staffers for his farewell party. We also busted the magazine for a similarly fake story that alleged Letterman had a sex tape. None of those stories were true, and neither is the tabloid’s latest tale of an impending divorce
