David Cook “Heartbeat” “American Idol” Video: Watch Farewell Season 15 Return Performance!
David Cook returned to “American Idol” on Thursday to perform “Heartbeat,” as a montage of winning “Idol” moments played on screen behind him. Watch below!
“Heartbeat” is the first song on Cook’s album, Digital Vein. The record is the fourth for the “Idol” winner. Following its debut last September, it peaked at number 35 on the Billboard 200, but went up to the eighth spot on the Independent Albums chart.
Cook co-wrote “Broken Windows,” as he did almost all the songs on the record. The album is actually his first since parting ways with RCA in 2012. Cook had been signed to the label since winning season 7 of “American Idol” back in 2008. Digital Vein was released last fall through his own label, Analog Heart Music. The name is a nod to Cook’s self-released first album, Analog Heart, which came out two years before he was on the FOX music competition.
Cook has made several “Idol” returns since his big victory, last appearing in a February episode earlier this season as one of the alumni duet partners for the semifinalists. The rocker performed with Olivia Rox and C.J., both of whom have since been eliminated. For the farewell season’s live shows, he’s the latest alum to return for a performance, following Adam Lambert, Nick Fradiani, and Kelly Clarkson.
It was announced earlier Thursday that Cook will also be at the “Idol” series finale in just a few weeks. Check out full video of the “Heartbeat” performance below!
