Dave Grohl: Emmys Cancelled Foo Fighters Performance (VIDEO)
Dave Grohl revealed shortly after Sunday’s Emmys that the Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform at the awards ceremony but the gig was mysteriously cancelled. Watch the video below!
Grohl was a no-show at the 67th annual Emmys even though his group’s HBO docuseries, “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways,” won two Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month. The cable series received awards for Outstanding Sound Editing and Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming.
Grohl was spotted on Sunday on the streets of Los Angeles, where a paparazzo asked the rock star why he didn’t attend the awards show. “We were supposed to play on the Emmys, and we were gonna play on the Emmys, and then they kicked us off,” revealed Grohl. When asked the reason for the cancellation, the singer said, “I can’t tell you. Do your research, but they did.” However, he went on to say, “I’d do anything” as far as rescheduling the performance for next year’s show.
Gossip Cop has learned that the reason the Foo Fighters were “kicked off” the Emmys is because FOX refused to let the band play a full song from “Sonic Highways,” and instead requested that the band cut the track short, which they wouldn’t agree to do. Watch Dave Grohl’s candid confession in the video below, and tell us what you think.
