Dave Grohl Broken Leg Forces Foo Fighters To Cancel Concerts (PHOTO)
Dave Grohl‘s broken leg has forced the Foo Fighters to cancel two upcoming concerts. See photo below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Grohl suffered the injury during a show in Sweden on Friday, when he fell off the stage. Amazingly, he opted to keep performing, sitting down in a chair as a medic tended to his leg in front of the crowd. The rocker was later taken to a local hospital for X-rays.
In a statement, the band’s camp says, “As witnessed by tens of thousands in attendance at Foo Fighters’ June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium, Dave Grohl took a nasty spill during the second song of the set. With the help of on-site medical staff who patched him up temporarily, Dave was able to rejoin the band to complete that performance. While the full extent of Dave’s injuries are still being determined, it was confirmed at a post-show hospital visit that he sustained at least one fracture.”
Now the Foo Fighters have pulled out of Sunday’s Pinkpop Festival performance in the Netherlands, and canceled Tuesday gig in Switzerland. The group is in the midst of their “Sonic Highways” tour, which began last December. Additional dates in Europe are scheduled for the rest of June, while the tour is slated to come to the United States in July. It remains to be seen, however, how Grohl’s broken leg may affect those plans.
