Daniel Craig NOT Offered $150 Million For James Bond Return, Despite Report
Daniel Craig has NOT been offered $150 million to return for two more James Bond movies, despite an inaccurate webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to RadarOnline, Sony Pictures is ponying up an enormous salary to get the actor to reprise his 007 role. A so-called “source” tells the repeatedly discredited site, “The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor.” The webloid’s ill-informed insider further says executives are “prepared to pay a king’s ransom” to get Craig back on board.
The site’s questionable source then breaks down a supposed plan involving Craig “shooting two more films, which will be made virtually back-to-back.” Its “insider” then adds that after Craig’s next two sequels, “He passes the figurative baton to someone else for a third movie that will mark the start of the new era.”
However, Gossip Cop checked in with an individual involved in the James Bond franchise, and we’re exclusively assured no such plan has been set. Although Craig may very well return to play the iconic super spy, he simply hasn’t made a decision yet, and no offer will approach anything near $150 million. Gossip Cop will update when either Craig or Sony Pictures makes an official announcement regarding the future of the spy series, but there are no new developments at this time.
