Daniel Craig Slams Kardashians: They Behave Like “F***ing Idiot[s]” for Cash

He might like his martinis shaken, but James Bond doesn’t mind stirring things up when it comes to the Kardashians.

Daniel Craig blasts the reality TV clan in the January 2012 edition of British GQ, slamming the family for selling their privacy for profit.

The actor, whose marriage to Rachel Weisz has been very low-key by celebrity standards, brings up the Kardashians in the larger context of modern reality-tabloid culture and its hypocrisies.

“I think there’s a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel,” he says. ”It’s not about being afraid to be public with your emotions or about who you are and what you stand for. But if you sell it off it’s gone.”

Craig explains, “You can’t buy it back – you can’t buy your privacy back. Ooh, I want to be alone. F*** you. We’ve been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta and now you want some privacy?”

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star turns his attention to the family most associated with reality TV culture.

“Look at the Kardashians, they’re worth millions. I don’t think they were that badly off to begin with but now look at them,” says Craig.

He continues, “You see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f***ing idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions. I’m not judging it – well, I am obviously.”

    I long for the day our society rejects reality TV participants as celebrities and stops making such stupid shows. Jersey Shore is no different. Glad this guy said something that many of us feel but don’t have the clout to express to a wide audience.

    2) Hear me out for a second: The way I see it 3.2 million viewers is not ‘blockbuster’, especially for a season premiere. I think this is (slowly) the beginning of the end for them. This was their very-much over-hyped season premiere. I’m thinking they should have matched The Wedding episodes in terms of numbers, if not more. I’ll bet that’s what they were expecting.

    If you combine the K’s Twitter followers (just the 3 older sisters), they have over 20 million. They could only get 3 million to watch?

    It might be really helpful if someone with a wider audience interviewed him and he spoke his piece. If the networks and major media people saw, in print, the reaction to his words,as in here, perhaps they would finally turn these wastes back to the Hills from whence they oozed! It is my opinion that Robert Kardashian must be spinning in his grave to see this.

    Well, that’s the first intelligent response here. If you don’t like it, DON’T WATCH!

    I’m not a fan of the Kardashians or a particular fan of Daniel Craig, for that matter. But.. I have to ask myself, what is more annoying to me? People I don’t watch on TV spinning money out of nothing and launching multiple successful businesses on sheer chutzpah or one celebrity unnecessarily slagging off another celebrity? I’m going to have to go with the second.

    It has always annoyed me that people who live in that same rarified glass house subdivision will so willingly volunteer to trash someone else for their particular brand of success. Put a sock in it, Mr. Craig.

    The Kardashians are just doing what all good Armenians do – succeed in business. I’m sure they are crying all the way to the bank. I’ll guarantee 99.9999% of us would have LOVED to have succeeded as well as they have.

    Having said all that, no, I’m still not going to watch their shows or buy their products. Haha! :D

    The British have a simmilar problem; TOWIE, MIC etc are all reality shows designed to create socialites. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.
