Daniel Craig Done Deal for ‘Girl with Dragon Tattoo’

Daniel Craig will star as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

The deal includes options for The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest, which complete Stieg Larsson‘s trilogy.

David Fincher is directing.

Fincher and producers have still not picked an actress to take the starring role of Lisbeth Salander. Carey Mulligan took herself out of the running last week.

    I am totally cool with that casting! Daniel Craig seems great for the part! So cool that this movie is getting together. It will be very key though on who they cast as Lisbeth… Crossing fingers that it will be someone I like for the part! :)

    I love Craig — but I don’t think Hollywood will be able to surpass the original Swedish versions – especially the first one, Hollywood is just too prudish.
