Dane Cook SLAMMED For Refusing to Stream Boston Strong Benefit Comedy Set

Dane Cook refused to let his set during Thursday’s Boston Strong benefit concert be streamed as audio or video, and now the comedian is under fire for his decision.
The star-studded event, which raised money for victims of last month’s Boston Marathon bombing, featured Aerosmith, James Taylor, New Kids on the Block and others performing live for the crowd at TD Garden arena — and on television and live stream for a worldwide audience.
Cook would not cooperate.
Early Friday, he explained on Twitter, “Hey everyone sorry my set was not a part of the live stream or televised! I didn’t want any of the new material to hit the airwaves yet!”
Twitter commentators were not forgiving.
“@DaneCook is a douche,” wrote one. “Refusing to stream your ‘new material’ at a charity concert in Boston? So weak.”
Another sniped, “I guess you and your agents need to get your cut before the bombing victims, huh?”
A third observer asked, “@DaneCook Really? Then why do a new set at a charity show? Couldn’t you just steal some @louisck jokes like you usually do?”
And those were some of the nicer reactions.
What do you think of Cook’s decision not to stream?
