Dan Wheldon Dies After Fiery Crash at Las Vegas Indy 300

IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon, who was part of a massive 15-car crash on Sunday at the Las Vegas Indy 300, has died.

Wheldon’s car flew over another vehicle in the pile-up, which left cars shredded and in flames across the racetrack.

This year’s Indianapolis 500 winner, Wheldon was transported by helicopter to a local hospital, where he later pronounced dead.

He’s survived by his wife, Susie, and two young sons, Sebastian and Oliver.

Wheldon was 33.

Ashley Judd, married to racer Dario Franchitti, thanked her Twitter followers for their prayers on behalf of Wheldon.

RIP. My thoughts and prayers are with the family especially his sons. I for one will not be watching the video, I can go without watching people die, and wish that people would let it be without over populating the internet with that type of video. Respect the dead!!
