Damon Wayans: “Stop Twisting My Words” About Bill Cosby Rape Comments (VIDEO)
Damon Wayans is fighting back after getting slammed for defending Bill Cosby on Friday’s Power 105 “Breakfast Club.” As Gossip Cop reported, Wayans said in an interview, “I don’t believe he was raping.” Wayans expressed, “I think he was in relationships with all of them,” and felt when Cosby told the women he was done being with them, “They’re like, ‘Oh, really? Rape.’” Now, after being attacked online, the comedian is pointing to a part of the interview in which he said he was “sorry” for those he believes were raped and that they deserve “justice.” Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop previously noted, Wayans tried to reason in his interview, “If you listen to them talk, they go, ‘Well, the first time.’ The first time?! Bitch, how many times did it happen? Just listen to what they’re saying.” Wayans stated even more controversially, “Some of them, really, is un-rape-able. I look at them and go, ‘No, he don’t want that. Get outta here!’”
And after saying that many of the women could not be that “naive” and the allegations are part of “a money-hustle,” Wayans did acknowledge, “If it was my daughter, I would’ve killed Bill Cosby.” He also said that for the women who he felt had legitimate claims, “For them, my heart goes out to them. For anybody who was raped by Bill Cosby, I’m sorry, and I hope you get justice.”
After getting slaughtered online for his comments, which mostly defended Cosby, Wayans tweeted early Sunday, “Stop twisting my words. Watch the entire interview before u condemn me!” He also posted a short clip in which he said, as noted above, that he was “sorry” for the women who were raped and that they deserve “justice.” Included with Wayans’ seven-second clip were the hashtags, “#thetruthdontlie #donttakepiecesofmywords.”
