Daisy Lewellyn is dead. The star of Bravo’s “Blood, Sweat And Heels” died on Friday after a battle with liver cancer. Lewellyn, a former editor at Essence was 36.

After a successful career in magazine publishing and the release of her 2010 book, “Never Pay Retail Again: Shop Smart, Spend Less, & Look Your Best Ever,” Lewellyn was tapped to star on Bravo’s “Blood, Sweat And Heels.” Viewers connected with Lewellyn because of her sense of humor in the face of adversity while suffering from cancer. She divulged her cancer fight in the season two trailer in February 2015.

The next month, Lewellyn told Madame Noire that she was “not afraid to die.” She noted that while she obviously would “like to stay on earth,” when informed she had stage three cancer, she understood, “If it’s my time to go, then I can say that I had a great life.”

Reacting to the news of Lewellyn’s passing, Bravo’s Andy Cohen tweeted, “I am just heartbroken about Daisy Lewellyn. What a wonderful spirit, force of life, & a great person. She lit up every room. Sad day.” He added, “Daisy had such wonderful infectious energy. We were all rooting for her. Another good one is gone.”

And Vanessa De Luca, the editor-in-chief of Essence, said in a statement, “She was sunny and warm, a breath of fresh air in springtime. You could not help but be swept away by her vivacious personality… I know her bright spirit will live on through all the lives she has touched.”
