Crystal Bowersox Status For “American Idol” Unclear

It is not clear whether “American Idol” contestant Crystal Bowersox will perform on tonight’s live show.

Bowersox took ill yesterday and was hospitalized. FOX decided to switch the men’s performances to last night and have the women take the stage on Wednesday.

But when Ryan Seacrest spoke this morning with “Idol” executive producer Ken Warwick, it was still not determined whether Bowersox would be ready to perform tonight. It’s possible the show will eliminate only one female instead of two.

Warwick was not able to provide details about the specific medical issues that kept Bowersox out of commission, adding, “How bad it is yet, we still don’t know.”

    I just read on another site that it’s due to diabetes. I also read that if she doesn’t perform tonight she’s out of the competition for good.

    That would be a bad news for her. Well, American Idol had a minor shake up and the Girls Night was postponed because one of the contestants, Crystal Bowersox, had complications due to her diabetes and had to go to the hospital. She’s alright now, and cleared to sing – and I’d bet a payday loans worth that she’ll probably go Top 5, barring disaster. She’s very different from the usual female entrants into Am Idol, and she’s been forthcoming (blatant, in fact) that she’s doing the show for her son, to help make a better life for him. Granted, she has beaten that horse to death – every other sentence out of her mouth is about her kid, which gets real old – but she is certainly entertaining.
