Crock-o “Idol” Rock: Elton John Not Simon Cowell’s Wedding Singer

Yesterday we busted the rumor that plans were in place for Simon Cowell to wed Mezhgan Hussainy in Venice this spring.
Today comes a report that the wedding will be in September… with Cowell intent on “booking Elton John to perform.”
“Music is more important to Simon than the venue, the lighting or the flowers,” a “friend” of the “American Idol” judge tells PopEater.com, joking, “I think it might be even more important than the bride.”
The “friend” believes John would be “the perfect choice” because he is “brilliant live” and “Simon’s dear mum and older relations know all his songs.”
Gossip Cop thinks Elton John would be a great wedding singer. And we’re glad Simon Cowell’s “friend” agrees.
Alas, wishful thinking isn’t the same as fact. And no one bothered to ask Cowell whether he actually had plans to book John for his (again: still unscheduled) wedding.
He does not.
“This is a load of rubbish” a rep for Cowell tells Gossip Cop, adding, “No such thing has been discussed.”
