Craig Strickland’s Wife Helen Reveals Details Of Singer’s Death: He Died “Lying In Shape Of Cross”
Craig Strickland’s wife Helen paid tribute on Monday to her late husband, who was found dead near Oklahoma’s Kaw Lake after having been missing for more than a week. In an Instagram post, Helen further explained what happened the night of Strickland’s accident and the ultimate cause of the Backroad Anthem singer’s death.
As Gossip Cop reported, Strickland went missing on December 27 during a duck hunting trip with his friend Chase Morland. The two men were killed when their boat got caught out in a winter storm and eventually capsized. Morland’s body was recovered last week, while Strickland was found on Monday.
Helen wrote on Instagram, “We can finally rest knowing that he is at Home in Heaven with his Father.” She further related, “The night of the accident he had fought his way out of the water and up a hill before the stages of hypothermia set in.” Helen added, “He experienced no pain in his final moments and simply felt like he was falling asleep.”
Strickland’s wife went on to say that her husband’s body was found “lying in the shape of a cross,” adding,”I know he saw Jesus at that moment.” Helen also expressed gratitude to “every single person who prayed for him and our family during this time.” She added, “There was not a more peaceful way for him to go into the arms of our Lord, and I know your prayers had a role in making that happen.” And finally, said Helen, “I love you with all my heart Craig Michael.”
