Craig Morgan Son Jerry Greer Found Dead After Boat Accident
Country singer Craig Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer, was found dead on Monday. The 19-year-old went missing Sunday afternoon following a boating accident on the Tennessee River. After an extensive search effort, Greer’s remains were located.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Greer was inner tubing with a friend on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee when he fell into the water and never resurfaced, despite witnesses saying the teen was wearing a life jacket. The boat that was pulling the inner tube, which Greer was riding, got into an accident, causing him to go under water.
Authorities deployed rescue boats and helicopters to comb the area. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were also involved in the search, which covered an area between five to 10 acres and in water up to 15 feet deep. Sadly, Greer was later found dead.
Following the recovery of Greer’s remains, Morgan’s rep said, “It is with deep sadness that I am confirming the passing of Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer… A 2016 graduate of Dickson County High School, Jerry planned to play football for Marshall University in the fall.” The rep added, “The family is grateful for the outpouring of support and requests prayers at this time as they privately mourn this terrible loss.”
Morgan launched a successful music career after serving nearly two decades in the Army. He’s charted seventeen times on the Billboard country charts, with some of hit songs including “Almost Home,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday” and “Little Bit of Life.” He is also the host of “Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors,” a TV show chronicling his travels around the world, and Greer, who was one of Morgan’s four children, appeared on the series.
