Courtney Harrell “The Voice” Knockout Video: Watch “River Deep, Mountain High” Performance!
Courtney Harrell belted “River Deep, Mountain High” for “The Voice” Knockouts on Tuesday. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Harrell is a songwriter who’s worked with some of the biggest names in R&B. Now she’s more than ready to embark on her own singing career, which kicked off when she shocked everyone by choosing Blake Shelton to be her coach. Harrell then defeated team mate Ethan Tucker during the Battles.
Now for the Knockouts, Harrell could really let her talent shine as it was up to her to choose the song. And she went with one of Tina Turner’s most iconic tracks. At rehearsals with key advisers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Harrell was encouraged to build up to her voice’s full power, or, as Hill put it, “unleash” it at the right time.
Harrell was up against fellow Team Blake member Bindi Liebowitz, whom, as Gossip Cop reported, Shelton stole from Adam Levine during the Battles. She picked “Son Of A Preacher Man” as her song choice. Hill first assessed Liebowitz as “vanilla,” and challenged her to be more “rocky road.”
Harrell’s eventual performance scored a standing ovation not just from Shelton, but Miley Cyrus, too. The pop star told her, “I didn’t have you as someone I should look out for to beat my team’s booty, but you might.” She went on to say, “You’ll never be singing behind anybody ever again.”
And, since Liebowitz received some light criticism, it was hardly a surprise when Shelton named Harrell the Knockout’s winner. Watch below!
