Courtney Harrell, Ethan Tucker “The Voice” Battle Video: Watch “Gravity” Performance!
Courtney Harrell and Ethan Tucker sang John Mayer’s “Gravity” for their Battle on Tuesday’s “The Voice.” Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Harrell’s Blind Audition performance of James Bay’s “Let It Go” had Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton fighting over her. The singer admittedly had an R&B background as a songwriter for the likes of Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo and more notable names. But she shocked everyone by choosing to join Team Blake.
Now for the next stage of the competition, Shelton paired Harrell with Tucker for a face-off in which he could only pick one winner. The country superstar said he selected Mayer’s hit because he thought the sound was a middle ground for his two artists. In rehearsals, the contestants worked with guest mentor Bette Midler, who won praise from Shelton for suggesting a key change.
And despite some awkward moments during their prep, Harrell and Tucker showed much chemistry when it came time for their official performance. Alicia Keys found herself unable to give one of them the edge, and Miley Cyrus agreed it was a “hard one.” Adam Levine also noted, “I hate making a choice, and I’m so glad this is not me.”
With the pressure all on Shelton, he exclaimed, “This is crazy… This is one of those, as a coach, you regret putting two people together.” He went on to say, “I don’t know! This never happens to me.” But a victor had to be named, and he went with Harrell! Watch below!
