“Until three days ago I couldn’t look at a picture of Cory,” she tells “Good Morning America,” adding, “So there’s been progress.”
While Monteith’s mom is still unable to speak about the night she learned of his passing, she does share that she is still in touch with Lea Michele.
“She texts me and emails me,” says McGregor. “She is hurting too. You see the sadness. I know her pain.”
McGregor recalls the first time her son had an overdose.
“He did a code blue, and I think that was the turning point,” she explains. “He had a lot of emotional things he was trying to figure out — lot of it was he really wanted a relationship with his father.”
She notes, “I think when a child gets invalidated they keep reaching even harder. They want to find out why.”
