Dr. Conrad Murray has been placed on suicide watch,” reports RadarOnline, picking up on a story from the Los Angeles Times which says the former doctor is being closely monitored so that he doesn’t attempt to take his own life in jail.

The site says the staff at the L.A. County Men’s Jail “were told to ensure Murray does not try to take his own life” in the first few days of his incarceration.

Murray was remanded to jail on Monday after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

However, Gossip Cop has learned that Murray is not on suicide watch, but is rather being placed under special protection at the prison, with an escort accompanying him wherever he goes.

And while it’s true he’s depressed, we’re told he’s still looking at the appeal as a saving grace.

Murray is scheduled for sentencing on November 29, and faces up to four years in jail.
