Conrad Murray Found GUILTY; Taken to Jail, No Bail

Dr. Conrad Murray was just found GUILTY of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

The seven-man, five-woman California jury announced its decision moments ago.

Dr. Murray sat stone-faced during the decision, which was greeted by a little cheering in the court and a loud celebration outside the courthouse.

Among those who let out a brief yell in court, much to the judge’s dismay, was La Toya Jackson. Family friend Kathy Hilton wept.

Michael Jackson’s parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, and his brothers, Jermaine and Randy Jackson, remained silent.

Murray’s mother and daughter, on the other hand, cried when the decision was read.

The verdict comes after a six weeks-long trial that included testimony from 49 witnesses and hundreds of pieces of evidence concerning Jackson’s June 2009 death, caused by a lethal dose of propofol.

Dr. Murray will be sentenced on November 29. He faces up to four years in jail.

The judge remanded Dr. Murray immediately into custody without the possibility of bail.

He was then handcuffed and led out of the court.

Do you agree with the verdict?

Justice and that’s all that needs to be said

No one can exactly know what happened in Michael Jackson’s life.. The true sad fact is that he’s gone.

  • Bruce

Really what it comes down to is whether or not Jackson administered the lethal dose to himself. If he did, Murray is innocent. If Murray administered it, he’s guilty. I didn’t really follow the case, so I don’t know any specifics on HOW they determined he is the one who administered the dose. But either way, this case was mishandled and turned into kind of a circus.

I personally don’t think there was enough evidence for a guilty verdict of manslaughter. I think he’s guilty because of who the victim was.

  • Nellygin

The best result so far. Guilty as charged.

He wasn’t convicted of manslaughter. It’s involuntary manslaughter.

  • Soukaina

i agree with regina1180! if tit was an anonymous victim, the verdict would have been different!

  • Regina1180

Point taken. But I still think he was convicted for the wrong reason.

  • Anonymous

No it would not be different. U guys are just saying that cause u wanna believe that Michael killed himself. Did you watch the whole trial when they brought out drug after drug. Yeah I understand he was addicted to drugs I get that. But, still… Murray should have been more responsible and Michael would have been here differently.

So in other words don’t start judging the judicial system when you don’t know what the heck u are talking. This could happen on any case. Not just this case.

  • Anonymous

Do you even know what involuntary manslaughter is? It means there was no intent to kill him but it happened anyway. I’m sure he didn’t mean to kill him but it happened, therefore involuntary manslaughter.

  • Anonymous

What does the victim have to do with it. It would have still come out the same.

If a doctor walked into your house, for a house call gave you a drug that under normal cases is not to be given outside a hospital and you wound up dead who is to blame, the doctor you gave you the drug or yourself who asked for it? It is back on the doctor and if the hospital that the doctor works for will back him up or let it go to court. There is also a chance that a lot of families will settle outside of court. But either way if it went to court or not it is still involuntary manslaughter, it is just how the family of the patient wants to handle it.

I think the right decision was made. None of us can be totally sure of what happened that day because we weren’t there. But let’s say if Michael physically took the drug himself, Conrad Murray still let it happen knowing that he was addicted. A doctor that is taking care of a patient should do what’s right and not give into their every wish just because they’re working for them. They should make intelligent and moral decisions. So even if he didn’t physically administer the drug, he was fully aware of what was happening and was capable of stopping it. He made the wrong decision as a doctor. On the other hand, if he administered it, he’s obviously guilty, but in my opinion he was guilty either way, just in a different way.

If he didnt get it from this Dr, he would have got it elsewhere. Does it matter who gave it to him? He wanted it and paid for it. Money gets you all you want. Just this time it got MJ more than he bargained for.

    Or

Is this a conspiracy all along to kill of a man who was not up to doing 50 concerts and would have lost some people a hell of a lot of cash?

Im sure if he used such negligence while treating a family member of yours you would see things differently. Doctors like these are a danger regardless of the patients name.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=685264999 Bec Brockie

Totally agree, he is guilty of negligence and it just so happened that that negligence caused a mans death regardless of who gave the dose or who the patient was

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=685264999 Bec Brockie

It definitely matters who gave it to him…would you want a doctor who will do ANYTHING for money, even if it is dangerous for the patient treating you or your family. Keep your conspiracy theory, dead or alive people lost a hell of a lot of cash so its totally a moot point.

  • http://twitter.com/dakotaboyd1 elysabeth q

I dont know Bec if I would want a Dr who will do anything for cash, but Im not MJ nor am I an addict with a sleeping disorder! Perhaps rational people like you or I may knock it back but this man is anything but rational! He is by nature a very pushy little dude that takes all things to the extream, plastic surgery being one as an example. He was told to stop by many a doctor. Did he listen or did he continue till his face almost fell of? He would have kept looking until he found the right Dr to do what he wanted and well hey, what do you expect when you play with fire?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=685264999 Bec Brockie

MJ Paid the ultimate price for his part in this…he is dead. Now Dr Conrad is paying the price for his part as he could have told MJ to go elsewhere but he didnt

  • Regina1180

I always thought involuntary manslaughter was unintentional but committed during a felony or other criminal act. Maybe I have the meaning wrong. But I’m not saying that what Murray did was right, but I still dont see where murder was proven. Doesn’t matter now, he’s paying.

  • http://twitter.com/dakotaboyd1 elysabeth q

How can I argue with that Bec? Tis a shame that we live in a system where money can buy ones morals. Boom Boom..

  • Angela_dimitrov

Michael would have found the drugs elsewhere! All drug addict over doses can’t be the doctors fault. Michael was a great and people want justice but to prison another man for a drug addicts addiction is ridiculous.
