Columbus Short Arrested for Aggravated Battery After Scandal Star’s Bar Fight
Columbus Short, the “Scandal” star who allegedly beat up another man in a bar fight earlier this month, was arrested on a felony warrant on Wednesday.
He was picked up by police in Claremont, Calif., and was later released on $50,000 bail.
An initial court date has not yet been set.
The victim was knocked unconscious and had his nose broken in the altercation.
According to TMZ, Short is facing a felony aggravated battery charge, which carries a maximum sentence of four years behind bars.
The site also points out that Short has a troubling history of violence and subsequent run-ins with the law.
In 2010, the actor pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace after injuring a man during a basketball court fight, and just last month he was arrested for attacking his wife in front of his young children at his Los Angeles home.
Short was charged with spousal battery and child abuse. That incident came only weeks before the March 15 bar fight connected to the current arrest warrant.
Gossip Cop will have updates.
