Carrie Underwood Brad Paisley CMAs Video 2015: Watch CMA Awards Opening!
The 49th annual CMA Awards ceremony began with Underwood and Paisley doing a pre-tapepd Star Wars bit as Princess Carrie and Guitar Solo. Together they vowed to “host the sith out of this show.” After performances from Eric Church with Hank Williams, Jr., and Keith Urban with John Mellencamp, the co-hosts officially took the stage. And Paisley had his guitar in hand.
They launched into a song about how the world has gone “cray-cray,” singing, “Bruce Jenner’s a babe now, and Trump’s leading in the polls.” Citing more examples, Underwood said, “And of course we can’t ignore the breakup that really rocked our world…” With that, the camera panned to Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.”
Paisley then cracked, “On a completely unrelated topic, howdy, Blake!” And he asked, “Carrie, did you hear that duet Blake did with Ashley Madison?” After that came an amusing plug for the Farmers Only dating site, and some mockery of Josh Duggar’s molestation and cheating scandals.
With Justin Timberlake in attendance, there was some humor about “D*ck in the Box,” and as the jokes kept coming, they were interrupted by William Shatner in a Storm Trooper costume. And as he tried to make quips using his last name, he actually said an S-word that got bleeped. And then… Paisley dropped his pants, wanting to take a “naked host selfie.” He exclaimed to a shocked Underwood, “Miley sets the bar, we try to reach the bar!”
As Gossip Cop has reported, Underwood and Paisley have jointly co-host the Country Music Association Awards for the last seven years. While this now makes eight in a row, it doesn’t top Vince Gill, who was the master of ceremonies for more than 10 years. Check out the full 2015 opening below! Note: Video no longer available.
