CMA Awards Nominations 2016

(CMA Awards)

The 2016 CMA Awards nominations were announced on Wednesday’s “Good Morning America.” See the full list of nominees below!

Its the CMAs’ 50th anniversary and Dierks Bentley, Cam and Keith Urban announced the first batch of nominees from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, while others were revealed on the websites and Facebook pages for “GMA” and the CMA Awards. While it’s always an honor any time a star is invited to the iconic Opry House, it was probably especially meaningful and surreal for these three artists as they had the privilege of announcing their own nominations from the historic location. In fact, Urban is up for the biggest award, Entertainer of the Year.

He is competing against Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Stapleton. Urban and Bentley are both up for Male Vocalist of the Year, too, as well as Album of the Year, securing nominations in the top categories. Cam, meanwhile, scored nods for song, music video and musical event with “Burning House.” Ultimately, though, it was Maren Morris, Eric Church and Stapleton who earned the most nominations, as they’re nominated five times each.

The 2016 CMA Awards, which are also referred to as Country Music Association Awards and the CMAs, are set to air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC on November 2 at 8 p.m. EST. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are slated to host the show for the ninth year in a row. In the coming weeks, Gossip Cop will report on who will present and perform at the 50th annual CMAs. Check out the full list of CMA Awards nominees below, as well as video of the nominations.
