Clive Davis: My Statements About Kelly Clarkson Are “Accurate” & “Fact-Checked”

(GettyImages.com)

Clive Davis is not backing down from his controversial claims about Kelly Clarkson in his new memoir.

As Gossip Cop reported, Clarkson expressed outrage at Davis’ recollections of working together in his book, The Soundtrack of My Life, accusing the music mogul of publishing “false” information and bullying her.

But Davis is firing back, saying his statements, which include claims that Clarkson was difficult to work with, are not only accurate, but were also verified before publication.

“I am truly very sorry that she has decided to take issue with what I know to be an accurate depiction of our time together,” he wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

“Before the book was published, I had every fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis throughout it all,” said Davis, adding that his writing ”was thoroughly verified by each and every one of them.”

CLIVE DAVIS RESPONSE

As anyone who has read “The Soundtrack of My Life” knows, I think Kelly Clarkson is a tremendous vocal talent and performer. In the book, I provide an in-depth look at our years together during which we shared major multi-platinum success, as well as a few creative differences. I am truly very sorry that she has decided to take issue with what I know to be an accurate depiction of our time together. Before the book was published, I had every fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis throughout it all. The chapter as it is written was thoroughly verified by each and every one of them. I stand by the chapter as written in my book. At the same time I wish, and will always wish, Kelly’s talent and her career to soar to ever new heights.

And is he the boss and source of money to these fact checkers?!

  • GooglyMoogly

Of course they’re going to side with him, the work for him. DUH

She probably was a nightmare to work with. He likes puppets and she refuses to be one, has her own mind and works hard to get what she wants. Clarkson’s unwillingness to lose her identity is partly to thank for her success so rather than write a nonsense ‘memoir’ about how she was difficult to work with he should be bowing down to her for fighting for what she wants, not allowing him to play the puppet master and ultimately making him a truck load of money.

He’s lucky if she doesn’t sue him over this crap

Oh look at him…,.a platform and piedestal of morality!
Your character sir is appalling, therefor I would not trust a single
word that coming from your mouth.
I know your kind very well!

He is looking like the bad guy in this one!!!! And his fact checking and verification process is the most asinine thing he could have used to defend himself.

She took issue primarily with a story that took place inside his private office when nobody else was there, so his “fact-checking” with mutual colleagues is irrelevant unless those people have psychic powers.

I guess he is trying to show her he is the “boss”. This man has a big problem as I can see. He has his backups ready to lie for him. Before you use anybody in your book, you should have their permission, especially when their career is involved. I see his kind everyday. I guess now he will send his “hit men” out to make Kelly suffer in some way to make her change her story. He is too use to running the show. Now he is senile with it.
