Picking up where Eminem left off last year – and then some – Clint Eastwood made a pitch for Chrysler, U.S. car manufacturers, Detroit and the country itself in a rousing Super Bowl commercial called “Halftime in America.”

“This country can’t be knocked out with one punch,” growls Eastwood. “We get right back up again, and when we do, the world’s gonna hear the roar of our engines.”

    THANK YOU MR. CLINT EASTWOOD FOR YOUR “HALFTIME” SUPER-BOWL AD:

    Loved the homage to Detroit-Chrysler and America Mr. Eastwood. However, whether by accident or design — just HOW and WHY Detroit-Chrysler was rescued — wasn’t mentioned. Maybe if the AD wasn’t a Super-Bowl AD or maybe if you weren’t a registered Republican, not wanting to appear to credit a Democratic president, [Barack H.Obama], you could have mentioned his [Obama's] role in Detroit-Chrysler’s recovery.

    Seems many are quick to be overtly critical and disrespectful to our president, [like Matt Damon was in my estimation] — the praise and gratitude for him — is silent and sadly absent. Not that we don’t have the right to be critical of our president; because we certainly do have that right. However, I just found it strangely remiss, that not once in your remarks, did you honor our POTUS for his policies that led to our auto-industry in the ‘Motor city’ of Detroit, recovering. [sigh!]

    Well, as a native Michigander, I loved your AD and I am glad that you inspired us in that way. One of our present candidates for president, [Mitt Romney], famously said: “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” I’m so grateful that our president decided to ignore that notion — making the tough decision to federally subsidize Chrysler — which resulted in the re-newed spirit that you spoke of in your Super-Bowl AD. For that sir, we are so grateful and as you’ve said in your AD, it’s only ‘Halftime’ and our best days as a nation are yet to come! Thanks to our president and to you sir, for reminding us that America is on the mend and on the rise! As you’ve stated, our ‘engines’ have began to rev again so let’s move forward together. God Bless you our president, you Mr. Eastwood and may God Bless America!!!
