Clint Eastwood made a joke about Caitlyn Jenner at the Saturday taping of Spike TV’s “Guys Choice Awards,” but the diss will be edited out before the show airs on June 18 because people found the remark to be insensitive. Eastwood was introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the awards show when he reportedly compared Johnson to other athletes who have become actors, like “Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody.”

The audience didn’t find the joke funny and on Monday, a Spike TV spokesman said in an email to the Huffington Post, “Spike will remove the reference in the version that will air” on TV.

As Gossip Cop has reported, a number of celebrities have come under fire for insulting Jenner (formerly known as Bruce). Kylie Jenner slammed Chris Brown on Friday for posting an Instagram meme calling her father a “science project.” And after first saying he’d still call Caitlyn by her birth name of Bruce, Drake Bell later apologized in a series of tweets for being “thoughtless” and “insensitive.” Timbaland was also criticized for writing that he was going to call Caitlyn Bruce because that’s “what his momma named him,” and Snoop Dogg similarly came under fire for posting the same “science project” meme as Brown.

What do you think of Spike TV’s decision to remove Clint Eastwood’s joke about Caitlyn Jenner?
