She's my best friend in the whole world and I'm so glad about the whole hot mess of it. It was a bit of a sensation at the time being sprogged up as a Freshman in college... Especially considering my hyper feminist beyond her time Grandma on my mom's side who fought conventions like these in her era. At the time my Grandma had a career during the war, she wasn't legally allowed to be an English/Arts school teacher as a married woman. Weird. Her first love and fiance died in WWII. She went single for a long spell after. At age 32 she was overwhelmed with the brood bug and the charms of my Cary Grant-like Grandpa. Her second love and soul-mate. They both went on to successful careers and family. They died married to each other after 62 years together My mom and dad had another kind of love story of their own - yet, equally compelling in a young lover different way.
