Cissy Houston: Bobbi Kristina Brown Is Still “Unresponsive,” Her Brain Damage Is “Irreversible” — SEE NEW STATEMENT
The mother of Whitney Houston released a statement about her granddaughter’s condition on Monday night, after more than 24 hours of conflicting reports about Brown’s current status. As Gossip Cop reported, Bobby Brown suggested there had been a major breakthrough when, during a Saturday concert, he said she was “awake.” His sister Tina later claimed she was also off life support.
But family sources exclusively told Gossip Cop early Monday that the remarks were entirely untrue, and that Brown remained on life support, with her situation unchanged since she was hospitalized in late January. Bobby Brown’s lawyer then released a statement painting a somewhat different picture, saying how the 22-year-old’s state had improved. “Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life,” said attorney Christopher Brown. “However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”
Now Cissy Houston is clarifying the situation even further, with a statement provided to TMZ that backs up what Gossip Cop has been reporting. “Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me,” says the matriarch. She continues, “I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive.”
Cissy Houston adds, “We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.” Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
