Christina Grimmie Twitter Hacked After Death
Christina Grimmie’s Twitter account was hacked on Saturday morning, just hours after her death.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Grimmie was fatally shot on Friday night as she signed autographs at a concert in Orlando. The gunman then committed suicide. While police do not have a motive yet, they have said there’s no known connection between the two at this point.
Grimes had tweeted earlier in the day, “ORLANDO!! Come out to the show tonight at the Plaza Live! Starts at 7:30!” It was accompanied by a video in which the singer told fans, “Hey guys, what’s up? We’re in Orlando today. Please come to the show if you leave near Orlando. We are at the Plaza Live. Please come out! Bye!”
Unbeknownst at the time, it would be Grimmie’s last social media communication. But shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, a new tweet was sent on her “@TheRealGrimmie” account. It read, “The end.”
Many assumed the message was posted by Grimmie’s family or management team as a social media send-off. But that’s not the case. The “Voice” star’s reps say the account was actually hacked, and the tweet has since been deleted.
As Gossip Cop has noted, a number of celebrity Twitter accounts were hacked over the last week and a half. It is unknown if this incident is connected to those prior instances. But the tragic circumstances here make it all the more worse. UPDATE: Grimmie’s Twitter has since been updated with a statement from her manager, as well as a new header photo recognizing her all-too-short life.
