Christina Grimmie Dead: Adam Levine Statement – “Devastated And Heartbroken”
Adam Levine says he and wife Behati Prinsloo are “devastated and heartbroken” by the death of Christina Grimmie. See statement below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Grimmie was fatally shot at a Orlando concert on Friday. It was just two years ago, though, that Levine coached the aspiring star on “The Voice,” where she placed third during season 6. They remained close in the time since, and Levine says he is “stunned” by her passing.
In a statement provided to Gossip Cop, Levine says, “Behati and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s tragic death. Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon. This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world.”
Levine initially posted the above photo on Instagram after the shooting, when it was first said Grimes was in critical condition. He wrote in the caption, “I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this…this just isn’t fair.”
As Gossip Cop previously noted, fellow “Voice” coaches Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera have tweeted condolences, along with host Carson Daly, and the NBC competition’s official Twitter account. Daly also called into the “Today” show to discuss the stunning loss. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.
