Christina Aguilera: Tabloids Are “Trash,” Blogs Make “Everyone A Critic”

Christina Aguilera lashed out at the tabloid media and slammed the increase of hateful, anonymous blogs at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film, TV and Music Conference on Thursday.

“The Voice” coach and performer said she’s been able to successfully balance both her career and her personal life by avoiding what she calls the “trash” on the Internet and in magazines.

Aguilera explained, “I’m a mother. I’m a businesswoman. I have a zillion and one things going on in my head, on my plate, creatively. I put my son to bed then I go right into my backyard, which is my studio house. It’s a lot.”

“I really truly don’t have time for the static noise. It’s just not real,” she continued. “They’re not real magazines. It’s trash. It’s rumors.”

Referring to online bloggers, Aguilera said that “now everyone is a critic” — not that she pays any attention to what’s being written.

“I don’t read blogs. It’s just God-knows-who in Buttf**k wherever writing hate sh*t,” she told the audience.

The singer added, “You can’t take it seriously. I’m sure you’ve all been hated on at some point by buttf**k people.”

Aguilera also explained how she’s carefully crafted her image in order to survive in what’s often described as a cutthroat industry.

“It’s hard being such a powerful woman in the business. I’m known for not always being warm and fuzzy, because you’ll just get bulldozed over. You learn to put up this little protective shield, but it’s because of something,” she said.

Continued Aguilera, “In my music, I come off as being very open about being insecure, vulnerable and sensitive sometimes. Then I’ll go onstage and be this powerhouse force to be reckoned with. It’s all about that balance.”

“My publicist will tell you, I don’t want to hear the good or the bad,” the “Your Body” songstress added. “I don’t want to believe my own hype. I want to stay hungry and stay eager and be the best that I can be.”

    I think being ‘a lady’ or a gentleman’ is an honorable profession whether you are rich or poor. I do not like ‘hate blogs either’ but her point is lost in the profane words she chooses to live by.

    She’s been getting hammered in the press lately because word is that her new album is just terrible. So she’s putting up a wall. She’s not as powerful in the music industry as she thinks she is and she hates it.

    I have all of her albums, even terrible Bionic. I haven’t heard the new one so I can only go by what is out there already, and word is that it’s crap. I’m with you on the homophobic thing, that’s a complete stretch. But I still stand by everything else I say.

    She comes off as bitter. If she truly didn’t care, she wouldn’t give the haters the satisfaction of acknowledging them at all.

Sorry but the press are getting what they deserve. If they don’t like it then well they should stop spreading their garbage not just about her but any artist. “Oh we trash her constantly, make up stories about her, accuse her of beating her son with no proof and wanted to draw and quarter her for snubbing A FUCKING BOY BAND why is she not being nice to us?”

    Everyone has always been a critic. Everyone has always had an opinion and blogs didn’t change that. It just gave some people an outlet to express their opinion. It’s not like no one criticized her before blogs. All of those “God-knows-who in buttf**k” decide whether or not to buy her albums or watch her show. Other people can be strong and humble at the same time, but clearly she can’t handle any sort of criticism.

    Christina is right and don’t get me wrong I love her but she has done things in the past to put her name into those very same blogs she bitches about. She was upset that no one mentioned her on the front covers when she kissed Madonna and it was all about Britney and Madonna. She is not a warm and fuzzy person because she’s had to toughen up but honestly so sick of celebs complaining about how hard their lives are with the paps. When in reality when the media stops talking about you your career is over. These celebs have a sick cycle of dependency on the paps and vice versa, all of Hollywood is sick in some way like that. These celebs act like they have the worst lives ever, its so annoying. I get judged all the time and don’t get paid millions to deal with it, if you can’t handle the heat in Hollywood then move somewhere else.
