VIDEO

(NBC)

Chris Rock made a Chris Brown domestic violence joke on the “Today” show on Thursday after Matt Lauer inadvertently set him up for the quip.

Observing the sunny New York morning, Lauer says, “We’re hoping the same kind of weather hits us tomorrow when we’ve got Chris Brown out on the plaza.”

Rock simply could not help himself.

The actor asks, “Did you say you hope the same weather HITS you?”

“I hope the weather doesn’t SMACK us upside the head tomorrow,” jokes Rock.

People need to seriously this damn shit GO. got damn! If you ain’t Rihanna then stfu. Shit is beginning to eek my nerves three yeas later and morons are still talking about this? Immature much? Chris rock ain’t even funny. His voice is annoying as fuck and he comedic presence sucks.

Not funny. People need to get off that kid’s back. It’s years now and he’s done everything he was supposed to do, as ordered by the court. He has apologized over and over again. He was just a kid and made a very bad choice. How long are people going to beat the crap out of him over this? What do you want him to do? Grovel for the rest of his life? Hide? Wear sack cloth and ashes until he’s 80? I’m freakin’ sick to death of this. The very people that seem to want to crucify him the most are the people who have far, FAR worse skeletons in their closets. Stone-throwers should be very, very careful… what goes around, comes around.

What Chris Brown did was wrong, dead wrong, but the multi-talented young man has paid his dues. The mistake he made was over 3 years ago, yet you folk want this man to pay for it the rest of his life? I don’t think so! If you want to talk about something, talk about the media shoving this man (a teenager at the time – teenagers are prone to making mistakes) under the bus, and leaving him for dead. The public scrutiny that CB went through was enough to kill a horse, but yet, this young man did not give up on himself when the world had basically given up on him. People lost hope in Chris Brown, but he did not lose hope in himself. He was a young man who made a monumental mistake, as we all have done at some point in our lives (or maybe not) but nonetheless, the media wants to continually punish and penalize this man for a mistake he made 3 years ago. When does it end? Seriously, when does it end? What are we teaching our kids? Yes, we teach them that domestic violence is wrong: that is a given; but we should also teach them that if they fall or make a monumental mistake, they can learn from that mistake and continue on in life to try to realize their dream, as Chris Brown did and continues to do regardless of the stones that are repeatedly thrown at him. We can teach them “not to give up on themselves” even when other people give up on them. We can also teach them to “never stop believing in themselves” even when other people stop believing in them”. We can teach them to continue striving in lieu of the mistakes that they make. Chris Brown did wrong, but we have to allow him to learn from his wrongdoings and get on with his life. It makes me sick when people continously hop on this man every time he breathes. I am not minimizing what he did, nor has he. He has taken responsibility, paid his dues and has been held accountable for his actions. Leave this man alone and let him get on with his life. There are people who have done worse things than this, but yet, they are not in the limelight or repeatedly shoved under the bus like you all do Chris Brown. I am truly beginning to wonder why, WHY? Seriously, I wonder what is the REAL reason the media continually try to degrade, demean and derail this man. P.S. In my opinion, Chris Rock, you are not funny, and never have been (not to me). Chris Brown: Keep your head up. People use your name to become relevant or to stay relevant. NOW, THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES.

Chris Rock loves to talk about black people with whites. If it isn’t hair then it’s anything else that makes fun of blacks. Leave Chris Brown alone and stop being a sell out.

Learn to spell. Get over it

  • Sarah

Exactly I felt that “good hair” movie was degrading and hurtful he’s making a fool of himself being so petty and inmature

  • Sarah

    You quoting this why?

  • Matt

VERY well said. Good to know some people don’t hold grudges on shit they didn’t even happen to them and that some of us still have common sense. People need to seriously get over it. Chris is far more talented And relevant than he is. Clearly people like bringing him name up for attention. No wonder Chris gets so pissed of. He handles himself better than I would. Cause I’d let them have a piece of my mind always brining my name into their shit to make them look good. All the bullying and critism he is always under since that event and how strong he’s stated clearly is something to admire. EVERYONE makes mistakes. No matter what it is. It’s not like his ass was happy about hitting her like most men. He’s done his dues and has shown rihanna herself how sorry he was. Clearly she accepted it and move on why can’t others. No matter what he does it doesn’t change the fact he had talent and has matured over the years from that event that changed his life. No doubt I’m sure he would go back in time and change it if he could but he can’t. He is not the only man or person who has laid hands on someone so Chris rocks ass need to stfu and spend his energetic on promoting that wack ass movie he has coming out. I’m even a fan of Chris but damn give the dude a break.

  • Maggie

Exactly people act like their his parent. Like wtf he’s a grown ass man. People need to worry abPut themselves and mind their own business.

  • Tisha

Exactly! Like damn they act like the dude is suppose to fucking kill himself or go live In a cave depressed over what he did? Like um NO. he clearly has to move on with his life learn from it, not do it again, and live his life and continue to Do what he loves clearly Rihanna agrees. They need to spend this energy on men who ACTUALLY AND PURPOSELY beat their women daily. And are happy about the shit clearly Chris hated himself for what he did. Clearly not an legit abuser like some men who torture their women and abuse their women cause they enjoy it. Coming from an abusive relationship.. Noone said rihanna was innocent either. We are all accountable for our own actions. Chris rocks statement was so immature and childish. If you have something negative to say.. Why say anything at all?
