Chris Rock revealed on Thursday’s “Chelsea Lately” that he will never actively support a cause again after his support of gun control prompted death threats.

“I’m not like, “Get rid of all the guns,'” the comedian explained. “I just don’t think people should have machine guns in their house.”

He asked, “Is that too much? Same way I can’t drive a NASCAR down Sunset Boulevard because there are regulations, maybe we should have some gun regulations.”

Rock admitted that after speaking about a “little bit of gun control” in Washington D.C., he received all these “crazy emails” from people cursing him out on his website, saying, “I’ll kill you bastard. I’ll shoot you in the head!”

“I was like, you know what? This ain’t worth it,” he said. “I don’t need this.”

The Grown Ups 2 star noted, “You need a machine gun to go against the gun people.”

“You’ll never see me talk against anything for the rest of my life,” he said. “If you see me talking about a cause, they are giving me a check. If you see me against a disease, I got it.”

The host of the 2014 BET Awards also had some choice words about Nick Minaj and her butt.
