Chris Rene Performs “Complicated” With Avril Lavigne On X Factor Finale (VIDEO)

Chris Rene rocked “The X Factor” stage Wednesday – with a little celebrity help.

Avril Lavigne joined the finalist for a performance of her very first hit, “Complicated.”

Rene, however, put a fresh twist on the song, free-styling an additional verse.

The judges called their rendition “a little shaky” but also full of “total joy and confidence.”

Rene and Lavigne faced off against Melanie Amaro and R. Kelly, and Josh Krajcik and Alanis Morissette.

More stars, including Justin Bieber, are expected to perform on part two of the finale, airing Thursday.

    I love him. I want him to win. Yes, he doesn’t have a big voice like Melanie but he is still very talented. He sings, he writes his own songs, he plays different intruments, he has charisma, he entertains – yes he’s got talent. Go Chris.

    Wow, I’m surprised Avril did this. Not because it’s a competition show, but she’s stopped performing Complicated and Sk8ter Boi as much as she used to because she started to find them annoying.

    I don’t get it. Just because he doesn’t have this big powerful voice like Melanie, he cannot sing. He doesn’t have a big singing voice but still sings just fine.

    If he doesn’t win I hope Josh does.

    He does not have a big voice but he still has a pretty good one. And he writes his own material which is a plus but the duet was wrong. He, like Josh, sounded off key to me.

    You DON’t NEED to have a big voice to be talented. Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Prince are some of the most successful muscians who DON’T have big voice and they are talentd. There are many more out there too. As the poster below (D. Martin) posted, he still has a pretty good voice and I agree. The guy writes his own music and it’s good – that’s talent. Not everyone can – not even some of these big time singers.
