Chris Pratt Visits L.A. Children’s Hospital In Guardians of the Galaxy Costume (PHOTO)
Chris Pratt was a real-life hero on Wednesday when he dressed as his Guardians of the Galaxy character Star-Lord to surprise patients at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The actor was at the hospital for a special screening of his hit for patients and their families.
While everyone watched the film, Pratt snuck away to slip into his costume, which he wore to hand out movie-themed toys to the kids afterwards.
Pratt also visited kids in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, and the Pediatric ICU who were too sick to see the movie.
The Children’s Hospital L.A. later tweeted a photo of Pratt with a patient and the note, “Star Lord (@prattprattpratt) cheered up our patients by sharing #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy! Thanks for making them smile!”
Pratt recently confessed that he stole his costume, with an eye towards visits like the one he did on Wednesday.
“I stole the jacket and some of the wardrobe so that, if this movie comes out and does what everyone hopes it can, I can… go visit kids,” he said. “If it was a big enough movie, to where it would mean something to a kid who’s sick in the hospital — for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them — I’ll do that.”
Pratt added, “That would give me real meaning for this movie.” Looks like he made good on his promise.
