Chris Pratt Congratulates Child Leukemia Patient: “You Kicked Cancer’s Butt!” (PIC)
Chris Pratt knows real-life fights matter a whole lot more than big-screen battles in movies like Guardians of the Galaxy. On Thursday, he saluted a young fan who just scored a major victory over illness.
The actor posted a photo on Facebook with a little girl he met while visiting Children’s Hospital Orange Country. Pratt wrote, “After a long battle with childhood leukemia, Emma is going home cancer free!!! Atta girl! You kicked cancer’s butt!!! Thank you to Children’s Hospital Orange County for setting up an amazing visit and to Emma for my wonderful painting.”
In the photo, Pratt is seen holding up the painting Emma made for him. The hospital tweeted at him, “Thank you SO much for visiting our patients! They had a blast. We appreciate your time and please come again soon!”
Over the summer, Pratt visited patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, wearing his costume from Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s clear the star has a soft spot for kids trying to overcome medical problems. His own son, Jack, was born premature. During an emotional speech at the March of Dimes Celebration last month, Pratt told the crowd, “I’ve done all kinds of cool stuff as an actor… I’ve gotten to jump out of helicopters and do daring stunts and play baseball in a professional stadium, but none of them mean anything compared to being somebody’s daddy.” Check out a larger version of his pic with Emma below.
